Cătălin Botezatu testifies in London court following violent watch robbery

Romanian designer Cătălin Botezatu has testified in a London court regarding a violent robbery that occurred in January outside the Amazonico restaurant in Mayfair. Botezatu described a terrifying encounter where three men targeted him, resulting in him being pushed into a metal fence and left covered in blood.

During the attack, the assailants used a knife to cut the strap of his diamond-encrusted Richard Mille watch to steal it. While two of the suspects, Ali Eldahouzze and Abdel El Habchi, deny the charges, Younes Djoudi has confessed to the crime. Prosecutors estimate the stolen limited-edition timepiece is worth approximately 160,000 euros, though its value may be higher due to its rarity.

Botezatu stated he remained silent during the initial investigation to comply with requests from the Metropolitan Police and Scotland Yard. The court has been presented with surveillance footage and images showing the physical aftermath of the assault.
