CTP to acquire Brno land for science and technology park

The Brno city council has approved the sale of land in the Černovice district to the company CTP for 722 million CZK (excluding tax). The sale follows a concession procedure and is intended for the development of a science and technology park.

Under the terms of the agreement, CTP is required to build and operate the park for a minimum of ten years. The contract stipulates that at least 30 percent of the area must be reserved specifically for science, research, and innovation. City representative Martin Příborský noted that the offer slightly exceeds the estimated price and includes an investor contribution for infrastructure development.

The decision faced opposition from some council members. Petr Hladík criticized the sale due to the lack of a planned highway exit from the D1 motorway to the industrial zone, arguing that land values would be higher once connectivity is established. Additionally, members of the Green Party expressed concerns regarding the ten-year operational requirement and the sufficiency of the space allocated for research.
