CTS Group expands into Italy with new Milan-based data center subsidiary

CTS Group, an international contractor specializing in data center infrastructure, has expanded into the Italian market with the opening of its subsidiary, CTS Europe Italy, in Milan. The expansion aims to meet the rising demand for computing capacity driven by cloud services and artificial intelligence.

The company utilizes an integrated ‘Design & Build’ industrial model that combines architectural and engineering design, prefabrication of electrical and mechanical modules, construction, and plant commissioning into a single supply chain. Technical solutions include dedicated energy infrastructures, such as high and medium voltage substations and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

In collaboration with Daikin Applied Europe, the group has also developed a patented cooling system designed to stabilize water temperatures in liquid infrastructures during thermal peaks caused by AI workloads. The Swiss-based group employs over 3,600 people and focuses on centralizing prefabricated module production to reduce construction times and enhance quality control.
