CTS returns to Asian Games broadcasting after 12-year hiatus

CTS (China Television) has announced its return to broadcasting the Asian Games after a 12-year hiatus. The broadcaster will serve as the sole terrestrial television platform for the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.

During a press conference, the broadcasting team revealed a lineup of anchors and commentators covering various sports, including baseball, badminton, table tennis, basketball, and boxing. Senior anchor Hsieh Chang-yi will lead the team, while Lin Yi-wen and Chen Wei-hua will travel to Japan to provide on-site coverage. The broadcast will feature professional analysis from former national athletes and experts to provide in-depth insights into the competitions.

Key highlights for the upcoming games include the highly anticipated matchup between the Chinese Taipei men's baseball team and South Korea on September 21. CTS will also launch a special program, ‘Asian Games Mission,’ to keep viewers updated on the preparations and performance of the Chinese Taipei athletes.
