Cu Chi road construction projects face delays despite expired deadlines
Road construction projects in Cu Chi, Ho Chi Minh City, remain unfinished despite passing their original deadlines. The Le Thi Sac and Dao Thi Kiem road projects, both of which had 240-day contract periods, have been extended until September.
Residents report that the unfinished sites are hazardous, with deep manholes, exposed iron frames, and piles of construction materials obstructing traffic. The Tan An Hoi Construction Investment Project Management Board stated that the delays were caused by shortages of construction materials, such as stone and asphalt, in late 2025, as well as the reorganization of the Cu Chi District Project Management Board. Currently, both projects are approximately 90% complete.
