Cua Sot aquaculture shifts toward organized production chains
Aquaculture in the Cua Sot area of Thach Khe, Ha Tinh, is transitioning from small-scale, fragmented production to a more organized, chain-linked model. The Dinh Ban Aquaculture Cooperative, established in 2018, has played a central role in this shift by providing members with access to quality seed, technical transfers, and machinery.
The cooperative, which consists of 26 members, reports an annual revenue of nearly 15 billion VND. Individual farmers have seen significant improvements; for instance, one member reported a clam yield of approximately 25 tons per hectare, generating an annual revenue of 1.3 to 1.5 billion VND. The cooperative aims to further diversify its production to include mussels and oysters to maximize the area's potential.
