Lucca Film Festival 2026 announces international competitions

The XXII edition of the Lucca Film Festival is scheduled to take place in Tuscany from September 26 to October 4, 2026. The event features international competitions for both feature-length and short films, offering a platform for contemporary cinema through diverse styles and genres.

American director and artist Julian Schnabel and filmmaker Liliana Cavani are set to receive Career Awards. The international feature film jury will include Lithuanian director Šarūnas Bartas, Oscar-winning costume designer Franca Squarciapino, and actor/director Michele Riondino. The festival aims to serve as a creative laboratory, showcasing twelve feature films in Italian premieres from various countries, including Japan, Iran, Turkey, and the United States.
