Cuasso al Monte unveils final mural of WOW street art project

On 27 July 2024, a large mural titled “Allegoria della vetta” was inaugurated on the wall of the cemetery in Cuasso al Monte, marking the completion of the WOW – Walls of Words street‑art initiative. The work, created by Italian street artist Andrea Ravo Mattoni, portrays local landmarks such as Monte Poncione and reflects themes of hope and joy.

The WOW project, launched a year earlier, placed fourteen artworks across the province of Varese, converting concrete road‑blocking “New Jersey” blocks into artistic totems that form a permanent open‑air museum. The initiative involved artists from Italy and abroad and was supported by the municipality of Cuasso al Monte, the Province of Varese, the Association ON, curator Andrea Ceresa and promoter Max Laudadio. The final press conference brought together project founders, participating artists and local officials to celebrate the conclusion of the year‑long cultural programme.
