Cuautitlán Izcalli: Human remains and threats found in black bags
On the morning of Thursday, August 20, 2026, residents in the Jardines de la Hacienda neighborhood of Cuautitlán Izcalli, State of Mexico, discovered several black plastic bags containing dismembered human remains.
The bags were found abandoned on La Era street near the intersection with Chimalcalli, close to the Mexico-Querétaro highway. Preliminary investigations suggest the packages were transported in a vehicle and left on the street between 4:30 and 5:00 a.m., before being spotted by neighbors around 6:00 a.m.
In addition to the remains, two posters containing threatening messages allegedly directed at local criminal groups were found at the scene. Authorities have cordoned off the area, and specialized personnel from the State of Mexico Attorney General's Office (Fiscalía General de Justicia del Estado de México) are conducting forensic examinations to determine if the remains belong to one or multiple victims and to identify them.
Local police and state agents have conducted patrols in the surrounding area, but no arrests have been reported at this time.
