Cuautla Civil Protection Urges Gas Safety Checks for Local Businesses

Milton Estrada, director of the Civil Protection Department in Cuautla, Morelos, called on merchants to inspect and verify their liquefied petroleum (LP) gas installations. The municipal authority conducts continuous inspections of markets, commercial centers, and establishments that use gas, ensuring strict compliance with risk‑management regulations.

Estrada said owners must perform ultrasonic tests on stationary tanks, replace valves, and remove tanks that have exceeded their service life. Businesses are also required to maintain up‑to‑date fire extinguishers, clearly marked evacuation routes, emergency exits, first‑aid kits, and to train staff while forming internal brigades to respond promptly to any incident.
