Zamora shooting kills teenager and wounds another

Two adolescents were targeted in a shooting in the Alfonso García Robles neighborhood of Zamora, Michoacán. The attack occurred during the early hours of Sunday on Ferrocarril Street.

One victim, identified as 17-year-old Julio César R. M., died at the scene after sustaining two gunshot wounds to the pelvis. A second victim, 16-year-old Eduardo Alejandro V. Ma., was wounded in the foot while attempting to flee and was transported to IMSS-Bienestar, where he is reported to be in stable condition.

Authorities report that the assailants were two men traveling on a motorcycle who fled the scene immediately after the shooting. The State Attorney General's Office has opened an investigation to identify the perpetrators and clarify the motive behind the attack.
