Cuautla shooting leaves man injured near church

A man was shot and injured in the Emiliano Zapata neighborhood of Cuautla, Morelos, on a Friday night. The victim, approximately 30 years old, sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and was transported to the Hospital General de Cuautla for specialized care.

The attack occurred around 9:30 p.m. near the Medalla Milagrosa temple at the intersection of No Reelección street and Reforma avenue. The incident caused panic among pedestrians and triggered a heavy response from municipal police, the National Guard, and the Mexican Army, who cordoned off the area.

As of the latest reports, the assailants fled the scene, and no arrests have been made. State prosecution authorities have opened an investigation to determine the motive and identify those responsible.
