Cuba and Bolivia implement new tax incentives for industry and social sectors

Cuba has implemented new tax benefits for workshops that employ people with disabilities. According to Resolution 201/2026 from the Ministry of Finance and Prices, these measures aim to stimulate production and increase worker income. Key provisions include reducing the tax rate on state investment returns from 50% to 30% and allowing companies to deduct 150% of salary and social security expenses when calculating profit tax. Additionally, the minimum exempt amount for personal income tax for workers with disabilities has been increased by 50%. The regulation also exempts wholesale sales of raw materials and supplies to these workshops from Value Added Tax (VAT).

In Bolivia, the National Tax Service has launched a simplified procedure for VAT exemptions on goods intended for national industrialization. Under Resolution RND N° 102600000039, a five-year VAT exemption applies to the first domestic sale of capital goods, inputs, seeds, drones, spare parts, and industrial plants. This initiative targets the agricultural, industrial, construction, transport, and mining sectors to reduce production costs, encourage private investment, and modernize technical capacities. Taxpayers can access these benefits by registering with the National Registry of Taxpayers and using the virtual tax office for digital invoicing.
