Cuba celebrates Cuban Culture Day with regional festivities

Various regions in Cuba, including Camajuaní and Cienfuegos, have launched celebrations for Cuban Culture Day. The 2026 festivities are dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Ministry of Culture and the centenary of the birth of Fidel Castro.

In Camajuaní, the program features parades, musical performances by the municipal band, and community-based artistic exhibitions. Activities are organized across all popular councils, involving educational institutions and local art instructors, with a closing gala scheduled for October 20.

In Cienfuegos, the programming runs from October 10 to October 20. In addition to honoring the Ministry of Culture and Fidel Castro, the celebrations mark the 40th anniversary of the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS). The schedule includes literary portals, film screenings, musical concerts, and the XVIII Provincial Salon of Artistic Craftsmanship. The festivities will conclude on October 20 with professional choral performances of the national anthem and various theatrical and musical events.
