Cuba commemorates Fidel Castro with provincial events in Cienfuegos and Jobabo

In Cienfuegos, officials marked the seventh anniversary of the National Electoral Council (CEN) with a ceremony that honoured the legacy of Fidel Castro Ruz. The event, presided over by Caridad Hidalgo Robaina and Mirna Viñales, included the presentation of diplomas to electoral leaders from Cienfuegos and Palmira and speeches urging continued transparency and impartiality in Cuba’s electoral processes.

In Jobabo, the provincial school‑graduation ceremony celebrated the 73rd anniversary of the 26 July 1953 uprising and the centennial of Fidel Castro. The program recognised teachers, long‑serving educators and top‑performing students, featured cultural performances, and was led by provincial party secretary Osbel Lorenzo Rodríguez and Governor Yelenys Tornet Menéndez. Both events underscored the ongoing emphasis on Fidel Castro’s legacy in Cuban civic and educational life.
