Cuba faces calls for freedom and warnings of political polarization

Bishop Manuel de Jesús Rodríguez of Palm Beach has issued a call for the liberation of Cuba. Speaking from Rome, the Dominican-born prelate emphasized that “Cuba has the right to be free” and urged the community to pray for political prisoners, families divided by exile, and those suffering from hunger and fear.

In a separate analysis, lawyer and journalist José Manuel Pallí examined the political landscape of Cuba and the United States. Pallí noted that relations between the two nations remain hindered by electoral interests, historical prejudices, and extreme positions. He highlighted a shared trend of political polarization affecting Cuba, the United States, and Argentina, suggesting that meaningful changes often stem from internal Cuban economic and legal transformations rather than external declarations.
