The organization claims that individuals are being detained for peaceful protests, such as demanding essential services like electricity and water. Furthermore, the report highlights a dire sanitary situation, noting that 463 prisoners suffer from serious medical pathologies allegedly exacerbated by malnutrition, mistreatment, and the denial of medical care.

Separately, after days of rumors regarding his health and potential hospitalization, 95-year-old Raúl Castro appeared publicly at an event for the Ministry of the Interior (MININT). His appearance follows speculation from exile groups regarding a possible stroke, though the Cuban government had previously remained silent on his condition. His presence at the event is viewed by observers as a political maneuver to signal stability and maintain the image of the revolutionary leadership.
