Cuba honors prominent members of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution

To celebrate the 66th anniversary of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR), a ceremony was held in Cuba to recognize outstanding individuals and organizations for their community work. The event was attended by President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez and other high-ranking members of the Communist Party of Cuba's Political Bureau.

During the ceremony, the ‘28 de Septiembre’ flag—the highest decoration awarded by the CDR—was presented to 11 individuals and two labor collectives for their national-level contributions to neighborhood work. Additionally, nearly 200 members, entities, and state and non-state economic actors received the ‘Por la defensa de la patria y la unidad del barrio’ medal and the ‘28 de Septiembre’ distinction.
