Cuba hosts series of cultural and social anniversaries

Cuba is hosting several major cultural and social commemorations across various provinces. The Unión de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba (UNEAC) is celebrating its 65th anniversary with a program titled ‘Arte Fiel’, featuring musical performances, art exhibitions by students from the San Alejandro Academy, and intellectual panels discussing the legacy of Fidel Castro.

In the province of Granma and Matanzas, the Federación de Mujeres Cubanas (FMC) is marking its 66th anniversary. Ceremonies included the presentation of the ‘23 de Agosto’ distinction to women for their community work and tributes to the legacy of Vilma Espín Guillois.

Additionally, the Asociación Hermanos Saíz (AHS) is conducting cultural outreach through the ‘Jornada 13 de Agosto’ in San Juan y Martínez and organizing the Guernica Visual Arts Salon in Las Tunas. In Santiago de Cuba, the 34th Book Fair is scheduled for early September, featuring Russia as the guest of honor and honoring the centenary of Fidel Castro.
