Cuba informal currency market sees US dollar and euro reach new highs

The US dollar and the euro have reached new highs in Cuba's informal currency exchange market. According to recent reports, the euro has maintained a dominant position over the dollar, with the gap between the two currencies widening.

In the informal market, the US dollar reached an average value of approximately 730 to 735 Cuban pesos (CUP), marking a steady climb over the past week. The euro saw significant movement, reaching levels as high as 840 CUP in some reports, representing a notable increase in a single session.

Other currencies also experienced fluctuations. The Moneda Libremente Convertible (MLC), used primarily in state-run stores, showed slight variations, while the Canadian dollar and Mexican peso also saw increases in their exchange values against the Cuban peso.
