Cuba launches nationwide Jornada de la Cultura Cubana

The Jornada de la Cultura Cubana is taking place from October 10 to October 20, featuring a decentralized program of artistic presentations, audiovisual projections, and cultural expeditions across Cuba. The event aims to reach both urban and rural communities, including municipalities, homes for the elderly, and various local institutions.

This year's celebrations honor several significant milestones, including the centennial of Fidel Castro and the 50th anniversary of the Ministry of Culture. Other commemorations include the 40th anniversary of the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS), the 50th anniversary of the University of the Arts, and the 22nd anniversary of the José Martí Art Instructors Brigade. The program also pays tribute to filmmaker Julio García Espinosa and musician Pacho Alonso.

Regional activities include a film presentation in Havana, a central act for the Art Instructors Brigades in Matanzas, and the Ibero-American Culture Festival in Holguín. In Bayamo, the festivities coincide with the 32nd Fiesta de la Cubanía and other national cultural events.
