The Popular Council of La Barrera in Cienfuegos activated the Red Juvenil Comunitaria, a youth community network organized by the Union of Young Communists (UJC). Seven projects were launched, covering urban beautification, aid to vulnerable households, sports, health services, and donations of food and clothing. The event involved the Revolutionary Armed Forces, the Ministry of the Interior, local rescue units, and community volunteers, with more than 69 youth coordinators participating.
In the municipality of El Valle, Bayamo, the same network was inaugurated by the Popular Council. Activities included cultural and recreational programs, employment fairs, dental clinics, and workshops on sexually transmitted infections and HIV. The Ministry of the Interior, public health services, the electric utility, Medilip and other local enterprises took part, as did firefighting demonstrations and sports exhibitions. Party and UJC officials such as Yaliel Cobo and Liliana Pupo attended, emphasizing youth’s role in social transformation.
