Cuba marks social work anniversary and energy innovation event

In Remedios, Cuba, the 26th anniversary of the Social Workers Program was commemorated, highlighting the role of social professionals in supporting communities facing economic difficulties and scarcity. Carmen Pérez del Barrio, the municipal director of Labor and Social Security, emphasized that social workers provide essential accompaniment, listening, and guidance to families in need.

Simultaneously, the Cienfuegos Thermoelectric Plant hosted the II Innovation Event, ‘Luz y Revolución’. Members of the youth network of the Ministry of Energy and Mines presented approximately twenty projects focused on energy sovereignty, emerging technologies, and operational efficiency. The event aimed to document innovations for potential replication in other power plants and to address technical challenges within the energy sector.
