Cuba, Portugal: Fatal car crash and fire on EN387
A fatal car accident occurred on the EN387 highway in the municipality of Cuba, Beja district. A 50-year-old man died after his vehicle veered off the road and caught fire. A 23-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital in Beja.
The incident, which took place early in the morning near the stretch between Peroguarda and Faro do Alentejo, required the mobilization of 14 emergency personnel and five vehicles. The fire from the vehicle also spread to nearby pastureland, though it was quickly extinguished. Road traffic was temporarily interrupted but has since returned to normal.
