Cuba prepares for municipal elections through voter engagement
Cuba's National Electoral Council (CEN) is conducting activities to strengthen participation and preparation for upcoming municipal elections. A scheduled series of activities from September 14 to 18, 2026, includes visits to educational centers, exchanges with professors, and meetings with local electoral authorities.
A key component of this initiative is a videoconference featuring the president of the CEN with young voters to discuss their experiences and commitment to the political process. These collaborators are tasked with assisting authorities in upholding electoral law and ensuring process transparency. In Cuba, delegates to the municipal assemblies of People's Power are elected every five years.
