Cuba President inspects national defense preparedness

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, acting as President of the National Defense Council, inspected defense preparedness at the Cubanacán Zone Defense Council in the Playa municipality. The visit aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of utilizing wartime organizational structures during peacetime to facilitate rapid community-based problem-solving.

Díaz-Canel emphasized the importance of strengthening municipal autonomy and implementing 176 economic and social transformations. He directed officials to identify inactive productive capacities to boost local development through both state and non-state actors. Additionally, the President addressed practical local issues, including food production, water storage, digital payment implementation, and waste management improvements.

The inspection included high-ranking officials, such as the ministers of Foreign Affairs, the Revolutionary Armed Forces, and the Ministry of the Interior, as well as members of the Communist Party of Cuba.
