Cuba reports devastating effects of U.S. economic blockade
A new 55-page report from Cuba’s foreign ministry details the impact of the United States' economic, commercial, and financial blockade on the island nation. The report, released on September 17, highlights severe hardships faced by the Cuban population, including limited electricity, food spoilage, and restricted access to internet and media.
The findings arrive ahead of the annual United Nations General Assembly vote on a resolution calling for the end of the embargo, scheduled for October 28-29. While UN members have historically approved the resolution, it has been consistently rejected by the United States and Israel.
