Cuba strengthens cultural ties with Mexico and Russia
Cultural and historical institutions in Cuba are strengthening bilateral ties with Mexico and Russia through new collaborative initiatives.
In Havana, the Institute of Cuban Anthropology (ICAP) and the Fidel Castro Center hosted a discussion commemorating the historical friendship between Cuba and Mexico. The event, held during celebrations of Mexico's independence anniversary, honored General Lázaro Cárdenas for his support of the Cuban Revolution. Discussions highlighted historical connections, including Fidel Castro's exile in Mexico and the involvement of Mexican military figures in Cuba's independence wars.
Simultaneously, the Fidel Castro Center and Moscow's Museum of Victory have agreed to expand cooperation between their respective institutions. The partnership includes plans to exhibit projects from the Museum of Victory in Havana and to promote the Fidel Castro Center's exhibitions through the Association of Historical and Military-Historical Museums in Russia. This agreement aims to strengthen humanitarian and inter-museum ties between Russia and Cuba.
