Cuban Actress Aylín Mujica's Son Mauro Menéndez Dies After Pneumonia, Final Audio Released

Aylín Mujica, a Cuban actress, announced the death of her 31‑year‑old son Mauro Menéndez, who succumbed to complications from pneumonia while in Barbados. In a televised interview, Mujica played the last voice message Mauro sent her, in which he described feeling better after treatment and said he was no longer in pain. The audio, released by Telemundo, was intended to address public criticism of the actress’s decisions during her son’s final days.

Mujica was in Colombia filming the reality show Top Chef VIP when she learned of her son’s passing. Mexican singer Lupillo Rivera, present on set, witnessed her devastated reaction, describing her as “heart‑broken” and offering support. The tragedy sparked widespread media attention across Latin America.
