Cuban art exhibitions held in Paris and Alcobendas
Art exhibitions focusing on Cuban realities and aspirations are being held in Europe. In Paris, the ‘La Habana Intangible’ exhibition will run from November 4 to 24 at the Galerie Artivistas. This solidarity project features photography and book sales, with proceeds benefiting an association of artists in Havana. The event aims to foster dialogue through music, dance, and roundtables involving academics, journalists, and diplomats to explore contemporary Cuban life.
In Alcobendas, Spain, the Asociación Cobijo has launched ‘Esperanza de los cubanos: la libertad’. This exhibition uses painting and photography to contrast the current material difficulties faced by the Cuban population with their hopes for future transformation. Inaugurated by the Mayor of Alcobendas, the showcase seeks to integrate the Cuban emigrant community with Spanish society and strengthen cultural ties between migrant creators and local institutions.
