Cuban diaspora artists to hold ‘Raíces en tránsito’ exhibition in Madrid

The multidisciplinary collective exhibitionRaíces en tránsito’ will feature the work of 30 artists from the Cuban diaspora in Madrid from September 10 to 26. Hosted at Galería Nueva in Carabanchel, the program showcases creators who have been supported by the Artists at Risk Connection (ARC) Resilience Scholarship Program over the last three years.

The participating artists, currently residing in the United States, Europe, or Latin America, utilize various formats including visual arts, film, literature, music, and digital media. Their works explore themes of migration, memory, identity, justice, and freedom of expression. According to lead curator Mari Claudia García, the exhibition serves as a testament to resilience, addressing how censorship and migration shape artistic practice.
