Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Rejects US Aid Delays
Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla affirmed that Cuba does not reject or obstruct humanitarian assistance, but criticised the United States for delayed and conditional delivery of promised aid. He accused the U.S. State Department of using the $100 million humanitarian package as propaganda, noting that the first $3 million took more than six months to arrive and a second tranche required another four months.
Rodríguez highlighted that the U.S. economic and energy blockade inflicts annual losses exceeding $5 billion on key sectors of the Cuban economy and called for the removal of those restrictions to enable effective aid delivery and alleviate widespread shortages.
