Cuban President Miguel Díaz‑Canel tours Boyeros municipality and other Havana districts

President Miguel Díaz‑Canel and senior Party official Roberto Morales Ojeda visited the Boyeros municipal council in Havana, meeting with Council President Yucleidis Ramírez. The discussion covered the municipality’s energy map update, water supply, food production, solid‑waste collection and the System of Attention to Families (SAF), which serves more than 1,200 people and receives support from 38 local economic actors. Ramírez highlighted efforts to assist over 8,000 vulnerable residents and to involve new economic actors in pension payments and food provision.

During the same tour Díaz‑Canel also inspected projects in the Habana del Este district, including Cuba’s first public electric‑vehicle charging station on the Vía Blanca highway. Built by the mipyme 5ta Avenida Motores, the solar‑powered facility will charge seven vehicles simultaneously and is expected to create jobs, refurbish 11 buildings and install solar lighting. He also visited the Industrial Base Unit in Guanabo, where a new line to assemble 250 Ampiroll waste‑collection containers will begin operations in July‑August, addressing a shortage of garbage bins in Havana.
