Cuba's Ferromar Restores Artemisa‑Havana Train Service

Ferromar S.A., the commercial arm of the Union of Railways of Cuba, announced that the Artemisa–Havana passenger train will resume operations on 7 August 2026. The service will run twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, with the morning departure from Angosta station at 5:45 a.m., a stop at Artemisa at 7:20 a.m., and arrival at Havana’s 19 de Noviembre station. The return trip departs Havana at 3:20 p.m. and the train can carry roughly 320‑350 passengers.

The restored route retains social fare discounts: students, people with disabilities and children under 12 pay half price with valid ID. Ferromar noted that the limited frequency reflects ongoing energy‑crisis constraints on the rail network. Social‑media users welcomed the restart but also called for the reinstatement of other suspended lines, including the beach‑train to the Eastern Beaches and the Pinar del Río–Havana service.
