Cuba's radio sector holds festival and marks RadioCuba anniversary
The 37th Radio Festival has commenced in Mayabeque, Cuba, focusing on the exchange of best practices within the nation's broadcasting sector. A key component of the event included a workshop on a Visual Identity Manual, designed to unify graphic, sonic, and communicative elements across radio stations to ensure brand coherence and audience recognition.
Separately, RadioCuba is marking its 31st anniversary amid significant operational challenges. Luis Sierra Santisteban, head of the Provincial Division of RadioCuba in Las Tunas, noted that economic complexities and energy constraints—exacerbated by U.S. sanctions—have impacted signal stability. To mitigate these issues, the company is transitioning toward renewable energy, having already installed photovoltaic modules at ten sites, with plans to expand solar power usage to the municipalities of Amancio and Puerto Padre.
