Cudillero sanitation expansion begins with 2.5 million euro investment
The Principality of Asturias has launched a 2.5 million euro project to expand the sanitation system in the parish of San Martín de Luiña, located in Cudillero. The works, which began this summer, are expected to take 24 months to complete.
The project involves the installation of a two-kilometer main collector to connect Castañedo with the existing network, transporting wastewater to the Soto de Luiña collector. To ensure the system functions correctly, a new pumping station will be constructed near Soto de Luiña.
Additionally, the infrastructure will include secondary collector networks for Argatón, Cepedo, Beiciella, Castañedo, and Escalada. Specifically, Castañedo and Escalada will feature 22 individual branches, each equipped with its own pumping station to direct waste to the main collector. All collected wastewater will be processed at the Esqueiro River treatment plant.
