Cue Clothing Co enters administration and closes five stores

Cue Clothing Co, the Sydney-based operator of the Cue and Veronika Maine fashion labels, has entered voluntary administration. Following the move, administrators from FTI Consulting have closed five stores to reduce costs and manage the business while seeking a buyer.

The closed locations include Cue outlets in Woden, Parramatta, Melbourne Central, and Armadale, as well as a Veronika Maine store in Mosman. Administrators stated that they are exploring opportunities to redeploy staff across the remaining network where possible.

Despite the closures, the receivers reported strong initial interest from potential buyers, citing the brands' high recognition. Expressions of interest are expected in early October. The company, which was sold to Hilco Capital last year, continues to trade as a going concern. The group maintains approximately 46 stores across Australia and New Zealand, in addition to wholesale presence in Myer and David Jones.
