Cuenca agri-food industry signs new labor agreement for 4,000 workers
Labor representatives and business organizations in Cuenca, Spain, have signed a new collective agreement for the agri-food industry. The pact covers approximately 4,000 workers employed across 300 companies in the province.
The agreement is set to remain in effect for three years, from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2028. It includes several wage adjustments: a 1.5% increase in 2026, followed by annual increases of 3.5% in both 2027 and 2028. Both the 2027 and 2028 increases include a revision clause of up to 0.5% if inflation exceeds certain thresholds.
Key labor improvements include the creation of a new shift allowance equal to 5% of the monthly base salary for employees working morning, afternoon, and night rotations. Additionally, the agreement introduces parental leave for childcare until a child reaches eight years of age and expands unpaid leave options.
