Cuenca and Aldaia open municipal pools for summer season

The Cuenca city council opened the municipal swimming pool in the Tiraderos neighbourhood on Saturday 27 June. The facility will operate continuously from 11:00 to 20:00, Monday through Sunday, and remain open until 31 August, with the sole exception of 25 July when it will be closed for maintenance.

In Aldaia, the municipality installed three portable pools at the Jaume Ortí sports centre as a free, temporary alternative while the town’s permanent summer pool remains out of service after damage from the 2022 dana storm. The portable pools opened on a Friday and are available to the public from 11:30 to 19:00 daily, with free entry on a first‑come, first‑served basis. The solution, costing about €50 000, serves over 600 children attending the town’s summer camp and alleviates pressure on nearby facilities while repairs, estimated at around €1 million, are pending.
