Cuenca employers prioritize profitability for future growth

The Confederation of Employers of Cuenca (CEOE CEPYME Cuenca) has identified improving profitability as the primary strategic priority for the local productive sector in the coming years. According to the ‘Perspectivas España 2026’ report, produced by KPMG in collaboration with CEOE, 66% of surveyed entrepreneurs and executives prioritize profitability, a one-percentage-point increase from the previous year.

While growing business size is seen as essential for long-term viability and solvency, leaders emphasize that such expansion must be supported by positive economic results and sustainable management. The report notes that while domestic consumption acts as a key driver for the Spanish economy, a complex international geopolitical context is currently hindering companies' access to foreign markets.

Business leaders identified political uncertainty, legal insecurity, and frequent regulatory changes as the most significant obstacles to growth. Approximately 62% of those surveyed called for a more stable and predictable legal framework to foster investment confidence, ranking this demand above requests for administrative simplification or tax reductions.
