Cuenca Guardía Civil arrests three suspects in 'seed method' vehicle thefts

The Guardia Civil of Cuenca detained three individuals – a woman and two men aged 20 to 28 – who specialised in stealing from vehicle interiors and homes using the "seed" method. The group was identified after a robbery at a gas station in Tarancón, where a small amount of money was thrown on the ground to distract an elderly victim while another member took belongings from the vehicle.

Police located the suspects in the neighboring province of Ciudad Real, travelling in the same car used for the theft. During the interception the occupants attempted to run down the officers and fled at high speed through urban areas, endangering other road users. The vehicle was eventually stopped and the three were arrested. seized items included jewellery, prepaid bank cards, gloves and clothing intended to conceal identities. The detainees and evidence have been handed to the civil and investigative sections of the Tarancón court.
