Cuenca hosts photography exhibition on the Spanish Transition
The Diputación de Cuenca is hosting a photographic exhibition titled ‘La Transición en instantes (España, la más bella del baile)’ until November 6. The exhibition is part of the ‘España: 50 años en libertad’ program, organized by the Subdelegación del Gobierno in Cuenca and the Fundación Antonio Pérez to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Spanish Transition.
The collection features 19 historical images from the collection of Julián Castilla, documenting the social and political transformations of the regime change. Featured photographers include Cristina García Rodero, Alberto García-Alix, Ouka Leele, Marisa Flórez, Oriol Maspons, and Antonio Suárez. The exhibition is accompanied by texts from art critic Alfonso de la Torre, who analyzes the role of photojournalism as a visual testimony of that era.
