Cuenca hosts tourism experts to promote rail-connected travel
Approximately 50 tourism professionals and technical experts are participating in a familiarization trip to Cuenca to promote the city as a premier travel destination. The initiative is organized by Spain by Train and the Cuenca City Council, involving members of the Spanish Confederation of Travel Agencies (CEAV) and municipal tourism technicians from cities within the Spain by Train network.
The program includes professional workshops, guided technical visits to the historic district and the natural landscapes of the gorge, and gastronomic experiences organized with the Provincial Hospitality and Tourism Association. The goal is to leverage Cuenca’s high-speed rail connection to attract weekend travelers and congress attendees from major metropolitan areas like Madrid and the Valencian Community, positioning the city as a sustainable destination accessible via the Fernando Zóbel station.
