Cuenca launches citizen consultation for urban mobility plan
The Cuenca City Council has launched a citizen consultation process to redesign the city's urban bus service and develop the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (PMUS) for the 2027-2037 period. The initiative aims to gather data on daily travel habits, routes, and transport demands to establish a technical basis for the new mobility plan and the future public bus concession contract.
Participants can complete an anonymous five-minute digital questionnaire, with access facilitated via QR codes inside municipal buses. To ensure inclusivity for those who do not use digital channels, the council will also conduct over 2,000 in-person surveys at various locations throughout the city during October. Héctor Serrano, the Councilor for Traffic and Mobility, emphasized that citizen participation is essential to creating a rigorous diagnosis of the city's lines and schedules based on everyday experience.
