Cuenca Mayor Darío Dolz reports job growth and calls for elections

Cuenca Mayor Darío Dolz has highlighted recent economic growth in the city, noting that new companies in the IT and wood sectors have contributed to increased employability. He estimated that approximately 700 new jobs have been created, including 400 positions related to the university hospital environment. Dolz also expressed a need to improve housing availability, specifically for young people, and addressed municipal services such as cleaning and security.

On the political front, Dolz, a member of the PSOE, has called for general elections to be held as soon as possible, describing certain current political situations as “totally unsustainable.” While discussing his future, the Mayor noted he has not yet decided whether to seek a third consecutive term, stating he will make a decision after the San Mateo festivities on September 21.
