Cuenca museums and universities launch Andalusi archaeology lecture series

The Museo de Cuenca, in partnership with the Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo and the Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha, has launched a scientific lecture series titled ‘El territorio de Cuenca en época andalusí: la cora de Santabariya y la medina de Qūnka’.

The program, running through the final quarter of the year, features archaeologists and researchers presenting findings from recent excavations and historical studies regarding the Muslim demarcation in the province. The sessions aim to provide the public with direct knowledge of territorial and urban organization during the centuries of Islamic presence in the Cuenca region.

Lectures will be held at various locations, including the Aula Magna of the UIMP, the Faculty of Social Sciences at UCLM, and the Segóbriga Room of the Museo de Cuenca. All sessions are free and open to the public subject to capacity.
