Spanish municipalities announce various educational investments and services

Various Spanish municipalities and regions are implementing educational investments and services. In Cuenca, Castilla-La Mancha, over 2.1 million euros have been allocated to local nursery schools for the 2026/2027 course. The Cuenca City Council will receive the largest share of 159,250 euros. However, the local People's Party (PP) has criticized the municipal model, claiming it excludes 200 children from free access by focusing on municipal rather than private school subsidies.

In Las Rozas, the City Council is investing 1.4 million euros to improve 14 public educational centers, focusing on climate control, painting, and infrastructure. In Aldeamayor de San Martín, the CEIP Miguel Delibes school received 16,225 euros for facility improvements. Additionally, the IES Venancio Blanco in Salamanca was awarded 1,000 euros for its reading plan to enhance its school library.

In Sueca, the Municipal Toy Library will reopen in September to support family work-life balance, offering services for children aged 3 to 9. Meanwhile, in La Calera, the Palestina Municipal School inaugurated a modern library through the ‘Viva Leer Copec’ program, funded by a project involving Fundación La Fuente.
