Cuenca to host XVII National Agroecological Collective Meeting

The XVII National Meeting of the Agroecological Collective of Ecuador will take place from September 28 to 30, 2026, in Cuenca. The event aims to strengthen community processes, share knowledge, and promote food sovereignty through collective learning and reflection.

Four parishes will host the activities: Sinincay, Chiquintad, Checa, and Nulti. The program begins on Monday, September 28, with an inauguration at the central park of Sinincay. On Tuesday, the collective will visit Nulti for a tour of the El Plateado cracks, followed by visits to fruit orchards, organic fertilizer production sites, and traditional wood-fired bakeries.

A group of 40 participants from across the country will also visit the parishes of Checa and Chiquintad during the three-day event. This marks the first time the meeting is held in Cuenca following its designation at the previous gathering in the Salasaca community.
