Cuenca waste management crisis sparks political criticism

The Popular Party (PP) has denounced a collapse in waste management services within the province of Cuenca. Cayetano J. Solana, spokesperson for the PP group at the Diputación de Cuenca, reported that transfer plants, particularly the one in Carrascosa del Campo, are experiencing severe delays.

These delays have led to the accumulation of waste in public spaces across various municipalities. Local administrations, including the Tarancón City Council, have publicly acknowledged the difficulties in maintaining the service. The PP claims the situation is a result of a lack of planning and foresight by the current government's environmental management team, noting that warnings regarding the deficiency of the transfer plants had been raised in previous sessions of the Diputación.
