Cuiabá adjusts health agent routines due to extreme heat

The Cuiabá Municipal Health Secretariat has implemented temporary changes to the work routines of Community Health Agents (ACS) in response to extreme weather conditions. This decision follows the VIGIAR Weekly Bulletin No. 25/2026, which classified the local climate as dangerous due to high temperatures, low relative humidity, and elevated ultraviolet radiation levels.

To protect workers' health and reduce exposure to intense heat, home visits and external activities are now scheduled primarily between 7:00 AM and 11:00 AM. During the afternoon, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, agents will focus on internal tasks at Family Health Units (USFs). These duties include administrative work, population registry updates, and organizational planning to ensure continuity of care without compromising worker safety.
